i guess ill start this thread with pieces i 3d printed for my link cosplay
printer used : robo r1
slicing program: matter control
infill used: 15%
fillament used: shaxxon blue pla
i used supports on one half of the shield and they were a pain to remove so i didn't use them on the other half and it still came out pretty decent
amount of filament used i would say a little less then 1kg

now i got all the stl files from thingiverse
the sword files http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:795066
the shield files http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:951204

when printing off the swords hilt part i ended up slicing it in half and printing on the side so i could avoid the overhangs that i knew would mess up the print (made an extra print but it also cut down on print time

the handle part i didn't do this but i would recommend having a brim for printing as i had it pop off the print bed when it was close to the end luckily i was watching and could pause the print but it back in place then hold it there while the print finished... it did not look good but it was at the connecting part so i could hide that.

assembly: what i ended up doing was sanding the keys down on the sword because the tolerances were pretty tight. after i sanded it down and assembled to give it a little extra strength i used a soldering iron and extra pieces of filament to weld the parts together
the shield it has slots for you to use small piece of wood to assemble but i just went strait to soldering it together

i was able to have the sword and shield hold up for the convention but the sword is very fragile where the hilt piece meets the first blade piece

feel free to share any cosplay things you have created my next project will be samus's armcannon
gonna need a few spools for this one http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:874515
